Born in Krakow, died in Paris.
Childhood and early adulthood spent in Austria and Switzerland. Painting and drawing lessons she took in Wyczółkowski, Pankiewicz and Weiss in M. Niedzielski private school in Krakow. In 1912 continued his studies in Munich, then in Paris at the Académie Ranson in the studio of M. Denis and P. Sérusiera.
In Paris, friends, amongst other things, with Apollinaire, Georges Braques'a knew, André Breton, Max Ernst and Jean Arpa. Maintained contacts with the creators of the École de Paris, Eugene Zak, Moses Kisling, Kees van Dongen and Lules Pascinem.
In 1913 she married the painter Louis Marcoussis. During World War I, lived in Normandy. In the twenties lived permanently in Paris, where he worked as m.in dekoratorka and fashion designer. The years 1935-1938 spent in New York, where he designed scenery for the Metropolitan Opera House, worked with magazines Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. Spent the war in the south of France. After 1945, traveled widely, visiting, and also Poland. She painted portraits, landscapes, still lifes, interior scenes and figural wyczuwalnymi influences from French art, particularly Cubism. In 1946 issued a volume of memoirs entitled Hier (second edition "Yesterday", Kraków 1957).
