Rafal Malczewski not walked the footsteps of his father (one of the most famous Polish painters). Not done any art school, but the workshop taught him the best of the best. Was seen as a painter-amateur. Left behind an impressive achievements in many areas of creativity and with an unusual life.

After the outbreak of World War II Rafał Malczewski chooses emigration. First, go to France, then go to Brazil, finally, by the United States to settle permanently in Canada (1942). 26 years of emigration, mainly to the memories and Mitologizacja skrawka lost ground, "world navel" - named as the written chronicle of that era.
