Tadeusz Brzozowski


1918 - 1987


Painter, illustrator, educator, designer, one of the founders of the Polish avant-garde art. He was associated with the Young Artists Group (from 1957 Krakow Group) and the theater of Tadeusz Kantor. He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts (1936-39), and then at the School of Art Industry (1940-1942), obtained a diploma in 1946
Initially, he painted figurative compositions with expressive characters and props zdeformowanymi. Interested in the people, situations and objects, none of which has not previously noted. He was also engaged in a monumental painting (polychromes in churches and in Imielnie Mogilanach, 50 years), set design, the design of tapestries. For almost 40 years, he was a teacher, among others art in high school in Zakopane (1954-69), the Poznan National Academy of Fine Arts (1962-79) and the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts (1979-81).
